The XetaWave XETA-10NNNNA-IO is a board-level industrial I/O module and terminal server designed for OEM integration, enabling direct connection of sensors, actuators, relays, valves, alarms, and legacy devices to Ethernet/IP-based SCADA and telemetry networks. This compact, board-level design (for embedding in custom enclosures) is Class 1 Div 2 certified and operates from -40°C to +85°C, making it ideal for distributed monitoring and control in harsh environments without the need for full enclosures or additional gateways.
Key features include:
- Processor and OS: 300 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor with 1GB RAM and 4 GB flash storage, running open-source Debian Linux for custom applications, protocol support, and long-term flexibility.
- Connectivity: 1× 10/100 Ethernet port (RJ45), 1× RS-232/422/485 serial port (up to 1 Mbps), 1× USB 2.0 port (micro USB On-the-Go).
- Programmable I/O: 8 multi-function channels configurable as analog inputs/outputs (1-5V or 4-20mA), digital inputs/outputs, counters (up to 10 kHz), and more – supports wet/dry contacts, voltage/current sensing, and direct control of field devices with programmable power-up/fail-safe states.
- Terminal & Bridge Functions: TCP/UDP server/client modes for serial tunnelling, Modbus RTU-to-TCP bridge, data concentrator (aggregates multiple devices into unified maps or MQTT/Sparkplug B topics), and wire replacement (replicates I/O signals over Ethernet or external wireless links).
- Enclosure and Form Factor: Board-level design for OEM integration (no built-in enclosure; rugged or plastic enclosures available separately), wide supply voltage (10-32V DC), reverse polarity protection.
- Compliance: Class 1 Div 2 certified for hazardous locations, FCC/IC compliant, manufactured in the USA.
- Applications: Ideal for oil & gas wellhead monitoring, water/wastewater pump/valve actuation, utilities substation I/O, agriculture sensor networks, factory automation, and any SCADA setup needing cost-effective, distributed analog/digital I/O over IP in embedded systems.
The XETA-10 series eliminates complex wiring and proprietary gateways by providing open, Linux-based I/O bridging and data handling. It integrates seamlessly with XetaWave radios or existing Ethernet infrastructure for reliable, future-proof industrial communications.
